Users of the site will agree to not use available personal information of other users for the purpose of direct marketing or commercial solicitation.

Comments and discussion

The NAVA website now has several areas where we invite you to contribute comment including (but not limited to) Blogs, Discussions and Campaigns.We welcome frank and open discussion, however to prevent offensive, abusive or defamatory comments, we ask that you abide by the following terms and conditions for this site.Any comments found by the site administrators to be offensive, abusive or defamatory will be removed without notice. If you find that a comment left by a user is offensive, abusive or defamatory, please contact us with a link to the comment and the site administrators will consider whether the material needs to be removed or edited.

Our rights

1. We retain the right and discretion (but not the obligation) to edit, delete, reject or remove any comment which you post or seek to post in the comments areas.

2. We retain the right and discretion to terminate your access to the comments areas if we believe you are abusing the services in any way, or have breached these terms and conditions.

b) parental consent was given for distribution of contemporary images of any child involved in making the work

c) images of fully or partly nude children have been classified by the Classification Board

FAQ: How do I join NAVA?

You can join NAVA through purchasing membership in the NAVA shop. To be able to purchase items in the NAVA shop you must be a registered user of www.visualarts.net.au

FAQ: I am a NAVA Member, what benefits do I get as a registered user?
When you register with www.visualarts.net.au as a member you will be able to access member only content and opportunities, as well as receive member discounts in the NAVA Shop.

If you are a member of NAVA you will already have a log in with www.visualarts.net.au. To retrieve your password and log in details go here and enter the email address that your members ebulletin is sent to. An email will be sent to you with instruction on hoe to log in to the site.

 

FAQ: Why register for a user account?
All users of the site are able to access most information without being registered but if you would like to interact with the site you need to be logged in. Creating an account on www.visualarts.net.au allows you post notices to the Notice Board, make comments to user posts, create an online artist gallery and place orders in the NAVA Shop.

  • To register with www.visualarts.net.au is FREE.
  • To post notice, make comments to user posts or create an online artist gallery is also FREE.

 

FAQ: How do I register with www.visualarts.net.au?
1. Click on the Create Account button in the log in box in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Fill in the mandatory fields in the form and click submit.

Once you have done this you will be able to log in using the password and user name that you nominated. An email will be sent to you to confirm you registration.

No, you can continue to use your existing user account and sign in to the site using your existing username and password. If you can not remember your log in details follow the steps listed under the FAQ What do I do if I cant remember my log in details?

This means that you already have a user account on www.visularts.net.au To find out your log in details follow these steps:

1. Click on the Login Problems? button in the login box in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Enter your email address in the nominated field

To post a notice on www.visualarts.net.au is free. You must be a registered user of the site to post a notice. To find instructions on how to register go to FAQ How do I register with www.visualarts.net.au?

To post a notice:
1. Log in to www.visualarts.net.au
2. Once you are logged in click on the Post Notice button on the homepage or the Post Notice button in the Notice Board
3. Fill in all the relevant fields and click the Save button.
4. Once you submit a notice it will be placed in a moderation queue to be approved for publication. Most notices are published within 24 hours. Once the notice is published you will be sent a confirmation email.

 

FAQ: How do I create an online gallery on www.visualarts.net.au?
To create an online gallery on www.visualarts.net.au is free. You must be a registered user of the site to do this. To find instructions on how to register go to the FAQ How do I register with www.visualarts.net.au?

To create an online gallery:
1. Log in to www.visualarts.net.au
2. When you log in you will be autonmatically directed to your account on www.visualarts.net.au
3. In the green menu on the left of the screen click on Create Gallery
4. You will be taken to a page to complete details about your practice. Enter the relevant informaiton and click the Save button.
5. Once you complete this you will be taken to a page to upload images to your gallery. 
5. You can edit your images at any time once they are uploaded to the site.

FAQ: Is the NAVA Shop secure?
The NAVA Shop is secure and uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and server certification to ensure secure transactions. Payment details are not stored on the secure server and are sent to us in encrypted form. This means that any information you send us is protected by encryption to prevent unauthorized access to your information. It's easy to tell when you are protected by encryption -- the lock or key at the bottom of your browser changes color or is no longer broken. This varies depending on your browser. You will also notice that the http in the url has changed to https (meaning a secure site).

FAQ: How do I purchase items in the NAVA Shop?
You must be a registered user of the site purchase items in the NAVA shop. To find instructions on how to register go to the FAQ How do I register with www.visualarts.net.au?

Purchasing items in the NAVA Shop:
1. Log in to www.visualarts.net.au
2. Once are logged in go to the NAVA Shop
3. You can browse items in the shop by using the purple navigation menu on the left of the screen.
4. To get more information about the product you wish to purchase click on the thumbnail of the product.
5. To place items in your cart click on the Buy Now button underneath the product.
6. Once you have placed all items in the cart that you wish to purchase click on Check Out in My Cart underneath the purple navigation menu.
7. From here you will be taken to a page to fill in your billing/delivery address and payment details. 
8. Once you have completed these stages you will be taken to a confirmation page that will give you a reference number. At this stage a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Visual Arts Net aims to promote and provide expert information about Australian visual arts, craft and design and the content and policy of the site reflects this.

The National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) is committed to respecting your privacy. This privacy policy outlines how the personal information you provide to us is managed.

Termination of Artist's artwork licence
The artwork licence agreement between the artist and NAVA states: This agreement may be terminated by the Owner by notice in writing to the Licensee. If the agreement is terminated by the Owner, the Licensee agrees to remove the image from the website within 14 days of receiving such notification. This agreement may be terminated by the Licensee without notice to the Owner and the image removed from the website.

Shipping within Australia
Shipping and packing costs for publications sent through Australia Post normal delivery service are included in the price of the publication. Your purchase will be posted within five days of receipt of your order. Customers may request express delivery by contacting the NAVA office on 02 9368 1900 or email NAVA@visualarts.net.au

Shipping overseas
We welcome orders from outside Australia. All postage fees for orders outside Australia will be confirmed once your order has been received. We guarantee to charge postage only at the cost to us. Your purchase will be posted within five days of receipt of your order. Customers may request express delivery by contacting the NAVA office on 02 9368 1900 or email NAVA@visualarts.net.au

Returns
NAVA will refund or replace publications purchased from our website, provided that the goods are returned within 14 days, are in their original condition and are accompanied by our official receipt. NAVA will only cover the cost of postage for returns when the publications were faulty or damaged prior to delivery.

Security

The Shop area of our site is secure and uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and server certification to ensure secure transactions.
