Artist Statement

I believe that art requires an audience, and an audience expects a performance. Each of my arid landscapes forms an integral part of an entire performance, one that extends beyond the linear plain of the painting. I respond quite explicitly to current agri-political and social pressures by conveying to my audience that it is possible, and indeed commonplace, for generations of pastoralists to work in unison with the ebbs and flows of the inland river systems- the life blood of arid Australia.
