Artist Statement
i am a chef turned porcelain artist .
what i used to produce in sugar i now replicate in clay. i found th magic of 'SOUTHERN ICE' adapted itsef to the hand skills i already had. i have now produced flowers [12 to 15 hrs work time],[by hand ,no cutters] fired them to 1280deg and have mounted them into box frames.
i also have taken up china paintig [16yrs] and go to schools and paint tiles with the school children and have them fired. loveing the art of paintig into the kids is very rewarding. i recently spent 4 days at a school in wangaratta with 247 kids . i am still on a high as they were so receptive of this art form .
to produce art work that comes from what i call' my minds eye ', that will survive the test of time is my ultimte goal
