Artist Statement

If I couldn't create art, I think I would curl up and die. I have always loved creating and sharing artwork. Image making is my therapy.

Up until 2012, I have been living and working in Melbourne as a full time graphic designer and part time artist and illustrator. My art practice has focused on portraits of feminine beauty using pastel and pencil with the aim to evoke a sensual connection to my subjects and affection for nature and nostalgia.

I am taking this year off, have moved to a quiet country town in Victoria to focus on my art full time. The goal is to dig deeper into my subconscious, develop new skills and techniques and further enrich my work.

Really beautiful work.

Your style is quite similar to my own, in terms of realism with added interest (such as the abstracted borders).
Your subtle integration of colour has inspired me, as I typically work in charcoal/ grey pastels. I have worked colour into a few works but tend to hold back. So thank you, for your inadvertant help.
