Artist Statement
housecosy was commissioned by Canberra Contemporary Art Space and completed with the assistance of over 100 knitters. The work responded to Bauhaus architecture of some of Canberra's most prominent public housing. The utopian ideals of Bauhaus architecture are at odds with the experience of living in public housing. housecosy made the cool modernist architecture saggy, bright and human amongst a sea of white cube buildings.
