Cherie WINTER

Submitted by: Cherie WINTER
Cherie WINTER, Playground
Artist Statement
Winter's work is not only visually unique but also technically inventive and challenging. She combines a number of printmaking techniques within the one work and therefore challenges many of the more traditonal ideals and expectaions related to the hand made print. Winter's work concentrates on images that reflect upon the elements of nature and societies interaction with the environment. 'Take Root' is her next solo exhibition at Gilligan Grant Gallery to be held in September, 2008. It examines tree root systems that have been shaped via google earth to map locations and attitudes in Australia and reflects the potential of the tree.
