If post colonial means so many analagous assumptions and so few definitions, I'm asserting the idea that there is an ensuing journey of sorts; the brave prospective adventurer bound for planet elsewhere or the dying imperial sunset casting shadows over the ruins?One of my most influential art history references will always be Ian Fairweather and his extraordinary life on Bribie Island, like many of Australias artist heritage he stands outside the margin of institutional acceptance as a giant and perhaps he could only have done this in the Australian landscape, a landscape which destroyed so many who opposed or fought it and yet how contrary that this hostility can engender the likes of Fairweather.
