The functional urgency of the primed machine counterbalances the call of the sea, the fresh air and the life that shuns the demands of the business district. As it is with making Art, the urge to loose oneself in the evocation long before the real work has begun of authorship and of commerce. The tides come and go, the moon and the late evening surfers hang there waiting, not knowing when the moment has gone on too long, as it is with making Art, keeping urgent, staying concise, feeling solid and moving along rapidly in the right direction.
