Artist Statement
My art and design is heavily influenced by the "Cult of Advertising" that saturates our suburbs, media - and even to a certain degree - our own lives. I have been a fan of graphic design and imagery for decades - my first exposure to the power of the printed image was through reading surfing magazines at the age of twelve. Since then I have always appreciated great art and design - be it contemporary, the old masters, or even tribal (with a history spanning thousands of years). In the last couple of years my fascination with digital art and design has grown to become a very important part of my life. I enjoy the creative journey that involves starting out with an empty screen ( with just an inspiration, or an objective the design must accomplish ). After thinking for a while, you explore the concept in more detail and toy with the layout, building up veneers of design elements to finally produce an image which really feels completed. It has examples of digital multimedia outputs including digital photography and image editing, 2D animation, digital sound editing, digital video, interactive interface design, and visual designs. http://www.redbubble.com/people/reflector My Red Bubble Profile. It has an exclusive range of digital photographs which are not for sale on Digital Cells or NAVA.
