Artist Statement

Kate is currently completing her undergraduate studies in visual arts at the Southern Cross University in Lismore, Northern Rivers N.S.W. Painting and drawing are her chosen fields in which she is developing an arts practice that aims to reflect in images, that which is difficult to articulate by any other means.

She is most interested in the heroic human challenge of navigating life in a world of unspeakable horror and brutality - evils performed in the name of necessity such as the daily slaughter of wildlife on our roads.

She is fascinated by the fears and foibles of the human psyche, and as often - distracted by great gusts of sublime beauty, compassion, love and outrageous courage.

The ironic duality of life on Earth is her muse.
