Artist Statement
In the past, my work was often figurative and focused on specific ideas. Currently, I am simplifying the subject matter, concentrating on geometric shapes and abstract forms. Specific ideas still exist within my work, but it is now more open to interperetation. Whilst in some works, I try to prevoke a particular emotive reaction from my auidience, I am happy for each person to see my work as something different and personal to them. As a student, I am exploring new techniques of painting using various tools to make unique marks that imitate a brush stroke, cutting out and covering up parts of the design. I am currently completing a BA Arts (Fine Arts) through Charles Sturt University and an Advanced Diploma Fine Arts at Newcastle Art College, majoring in Painting.
