Perdita Phillips works in installation, sculpture, public art, text and electronic media. She is interested in the relationship between art and science, new visions of the environment. Her work encompasses the intersection of sound, walking and the nonhuman world.

In recent times she has exhibited works in The System of Nature (2007, Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, The University of Western Australia), Chart (2006 John Curtin Art Gallery, Curtin University) and the international sound art walking show strange strolls (2005, Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery) that she curated.

In 2007 she participated in a Walking and Art thematic residency at the Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada) and she is currently working on her Australia Council funded art and science project Green, grey or dull silver: Art and the behavioural ecology of the great bowerbird, Chlamydera nuchalis (2007-2008).

Other recent projects include the walking project Vade mecum (2006, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Perth) and PhD project fieldwork/fieldwalking (2006, Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery).
