Artist Statement
Predominantly I work with video and performance. I am first a performance artist and from this comes my video work. My work operates along a couple of meandering lines of enquiry loosely based around the subject's experience of the world. I seek to engage with the world and make art that has implications beyond self-reflexivity. My work explores space; a space which is exploded to encompass the non-physical (mental, digital etc.). The realtionship between spaces. Questions of who demarcates space etc. I also want to re-skill art. I want to bring into it skills and practices from outside, technical skills. this concerns itself with epistemology and the resultant application of human reason.
