Artist Statement
I employ a methodology of refraining from consciously adding meaning or a message to my artwork, letting process dictate the product. Each painting in some way starts as a different problem to be solved in a practical sense the problem of a blank canvas or in a more ethereal sense the problem of reconciling conflicting ideas and motives. Painting has always been a reliable way for me to meditate on human experience and I feel that although the forms and colours shirk a specific message, they are imbued with empathy and enthusiasm which I believe is communicated to the audience.
