Stephanie Haygarth's work uses both representation and abstraction in meditative paintings about the precarious state of existence and the fascinations of the natural world. Using sources such as photographs, drawings and memories of patterns in light, plumage, sand, cloud or sea, her work explores qualities that tell of the fleetingness of things.
In 2007, Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Visual) with honours in painting from the Australian National University (ANU). As a student, she participated in a number of exhibitions both inside and outside the university and was a finalist in the ANU Drawing Prize every year of her studies.
