Artist Statement
I enjoy the subversion of using a material invested with such traditon (lost wax casting) to address contemporary social issues. The environment,indulgence and excess,consumerism,mortality,greed etc..
These works are presented in a way that pays homage to the decorative arts and still life arrangements from earlier times but within these arrangements lie a less tasteful and unsettling content.
Humour is often employed to further disguise and I
encourage us all to enjoy a laugh or wry smile, when considering our own position within the great debates of art, life and everything !
