The Fletcher Jones art prize is an acquisitive painting prize, conducted by the Geelong Gallery on a biennial basis. The prize continues the tradition of the Geelong Contemporary Art Prize and is worth $30,000.

The ArtStart program provides financial assistance to recent creative arts graduates who are committed to establishing a career as a professional artist. The Inter-Arts Office of the Australia Council for the Arts will support new interdisciplinary research and creative development projects with grants of $75,000. The ArtLab initiative is for rigorous experimentation and collaboration between artists from multiple disciplines to explore new artistic practices.

The Alice Prize

The next Alice Prize will be held 1 May- 6 June 2010. The Prize is now $20,000 (acquisitive) plus 4 weeks residency in Alice Springs. Entries close 30 October 2009 and selections take place in November 2009.
