Visual Arts Net aims to promote and provide expert information about Australian visual arts and craft and the content and policy of the site reflects this.
Privacy

NAVA/Visualarts.net.au Privacy Policy

The National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) is committed to respecting your privacy. This privacy policy outlines how the personal information you provide to us is managed.

NAVA will collect personal information about who you are, such as your name, email address, or postal address, only when you have provided these details to us.

NAVA will not disclose your information to any other group or organisation for any purpose unless we have your consent to do so. NAVA will only use the personal information you have provided to us for the purpose for which you provided it. The primary purpose for which we collect information is to facilitate professional relationships in the visual arts sector.

You have the right to view and change any of the details you have listed with this web-site. NAVA aims to make sure that the information held is accurate, complete and up to date. If your personal details change, please contact NAVA, so that the information can be updated.

This site uses data that directly or indirectly identifies people and organisations operating in the Australian visual arts and craft sector, as well as sectors relating to specific areas of art practice. Any person or organisation so identified can ask to have their details removed or altered by emailing NAVA at nava@visualarts.net.au or via any other means of notification . Users of the site are asked to respect the privacy of the people and organisations identified.

Artist Contact Details
Australian artists who have a professional commitment to their art practice can enter their contact details on this site.

Only artists who have entered their own details on the site will have their name and contact details published on the site.

Images and information posted are wholly the responsibility of the person posting the image/information. In order to upload images to this site you must be the copyright owner of the image in question or have an agreement with the owner to use the image in this manner.

Termination of Artist's artwork licence
The artwork licence agreement between the artist and NAVA states: This agreement may be terminated by the Owner by notice in writing to the Licensee. If the agreement is terminated by the Owner, the Licensee agrees to remove the image from the website within 14 days of receiving such notification. This agreement may be terminated by the Licensee without notice to the Owner and the image removed from the website.

Acknowledgment of funding bodies and sponsors
Acknowledgment of funding bodies and sponsors of this site appears on the home page, on the NAVA page and on the credits page of the site.

Any other bodies which provide funding or sponsorship for specific areas of the site, eg the Practical Advice section, will appear either on the front page of that section of the site or attached to the specific topic being sponsored.

The National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) respects the rights of all artists and copyright holders. Consequently, all works that appear on this website do so with the consent of the artist/s or copyright holder. No image or information displayed on this site may be reproduced, transmitted or copied (other than for the purposes of private research and study) without the copyright holder’s permission. Contravention is an infringement of Australia's Copyright Act 1968. Requests for publication of the works should be made in writing to the copyright holder.

In addition individual texts will be credited and copyrighted as appropriate.

Artists’ Moral Rights
Providing the artist supplies the details, the website will identify the artist as the creator of the image each time it appears on the site.

NAVA will not alter the image in any way whatsoever without the prior written permission of the artist.

All images submitted to the website must include a photographer’s credit.

Moderated Site

All interactive parts of the site are moderated and NAVA reserves the right to remove any information it feels is not appropriate. Information posted is wholly the responsibility of the person posting the information.

NAVA is not responsible for the views expressed in the ‘Notice Board’, ‘Blogs and Discussions’, “Forums’ and ‘Comments’ and it does not necessarily endorse the views expressed. E-commerce

Shipping within Australia
Shipping and packing costs for publications sent through Australia Post normal delivery service are included in the price of the publication. Your purchase will be posted within five days of receipt of your order. Customers may request express delivery by contacting the NAVA office on 02 9368 1900 or email NAVA@visualarts.net.au

Shipping overseas
We welcome orders from outside Australia. All postage fees for orders outside Australia will be confirmed once your order has been received. We guarantee to charge postage only at the cost to us. Your purchase will be posted within five days of receipt of your order. Customers may request express delivery by contacting the NAVA office on 02 9368 1900 or email NAVA@visualarts.net.au

Returns
NAVA will refund or replace publications purchased from our website, provided that the goods are returned within 14 days, are in their original condition and are accompanied by our official receipt. NAVA will only cover the cost of postage for returns when the publications were faulty or damaged prior to delivery.

Security

The Shop area of our site is secure and uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and server certification to ensure secure transactions. Credit card information is passed directly to the card processing company and is never, sent or stored on NAVA’s computers or servers. This means that any credit card information you provide is protected by encryption to prevent unauthorized access to your information. It's easy to tell when you are protected by encryption -- the lock or key at the bottom of your browser changes colour or is no longer broken. This varies depending on your browser. You will also notice that the http in the url has changed to https (meaning a secure site).
