NAVA again calls for urgent crisis support for the visual arts sector

It’s time for the visual arts and craft sector voices to be heard alongside live performing arts and music.

NAVA again calls for urgent crisis support for the visual arts sector. It was announced today that the Federal Government allocated an additional $20m of crisis funding to Support Act for the music industry. This is in addition to the $20m already allocated since March 2020. This new tranche of much needed support also includes the broader live performing arts sector. The exclusion of the visual arts is a blow to the sector.

The stories are the same across the whole of the arts industry. Artists and arts workers need urgent support to get through this time of crisis.

We urgently call on the government to allocate crisis support funding to NAVA’s Artists’ Benevolent Fund or open the Support Act funding to the visual arts.

It’s time for the visual arts sector voices to be heard alongside live performing arts and music. We ask artists, art workers and the broader visual arts, craft and design sector to echo our calls for support. Your stories need to be heard.

Please tweet, post and share ‘I’m an artist/art worker and I need support because…’
