Another Blow to Freedom of Expression?

Submitted by mediadesk on Tue, 2007-07-24 13:00.

The Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs has been receiving submissions in relation to the proposed Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Amendment (Terrorist Material) Bill 2007. In its submission, NAVA expressed its concern that these proposed amendments would further exacerbate curtailment of freedom of expression caused by the Sedition clause in the Anti-Terrorism bill passed by parliament at the end of 2005.
