Today the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) is announcing an exciting new initiative to assist Australian artists and arts educators across all artforms with their careers. In a unique collaboration between arts industry and arts education peak bodies, Arts Education Australia, Ausdance National, the Australian Network for Art & Technology, Australian Society of Authors, Australian Teachers of Media, Music Council of Australia and Theatre Network Victoria will join NAVA in providing content for the new professional development web portal for artists and arts educators www.artscareer.com.au.

The site will draw together resources for artists of all stripes, including dancers, musicians, visual artists and designers, theatre performers, writers and artists working across artforms. With recent research showing that incomes of most artists are still very low, this website will provide a valuable short cut to career-boosting opportunities.
