Metro Arts delivers professional development for artists to achieve sustainable creative practice. It provides a unique combination of artistic programs, business skilling and facilities in a dynamic community environment. For 30 years, it has prominently supported artists and is recognised as Brisbane’s centre for new and adventurous work. Metro Arts' annual Artistic Program invests in early-career and established artists through its flagship programs, the Independents (performing arts) and the Galleries Program (visual arts). Applications are considered from artists who are committed to developing and presenting quality works. The Artistic Program also supports an Artist in Residence, the NBC Capital-Metro Arts Scholarship artist and the Creative Development Festival. Business skilling is provided by Metro Arts' business development program, Biz Arts MAkers, launched in 2003 to support the development of creative practices as sustainable businesses. The Facilities Program provides artists, arts organisations and creative businesses with affordable tenancies in Metro Arts’ heritage-listed building in the centre of the city. Venues for hire include galleries, performance, rehearsal and meeting spaces. Metro Arts’ holistic framework of professional development promotes innovation, artistic diversity and economic viability.
Studio George is a complete "egg" cyclorama in Sydney. It boasts a full, 4-wall cyclorama and roof.

Gasworks has 3 exhibition spaces, the Angela Roberts -Bird Gallery is $156.00 per week, the Foyer Gallery is $120 per week and the Hall Gallery is $66 per week. Exhibitions are usually 3 weeks long. Please apply for an application form.
Gasworks has studios available on 2 year extendable contracts for sculptors, ceramists and visual artists. If you are interested in being put on the waiting list please send us your details.
Gasworks has a darkroom. Membership is $66 for 3 months and includes unlimited usage (up to 4 hours per day). Member must supply their own chemicals and paper.
